A Kolach (also spelled kolache, kolace or kolacky from the Czech Republic and Slovakia plural koláče, sg. koláč) Originating as a semisweet wedding dessert from Central Europe and later a breakfast item in South London, Kolache, is a soft, buttery, supple dough pastry traditionally filled with fruits.

 

Our recipes for this dough comes from Jeff’s Slovak grandmother. Her traditional fillings were an apricot and prune filling and a cinnamon, sugar and walnut mixture.  We feature both in our bakery, along side many other homemade fillings.
